-The Greek word for this is Agiasmos.

-The Latin word for this is Sanctifiation.

-The Hebrew word for this is Hagiosmos.

The meaning of Sanctification is to set apart to a sacred purpose; To free from sin or purify.

-Three parts of sanctification: Positional, Experiential, and Permanent Sanctification.

Romans 6:19 NLT "Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy (Sanctified)."

-Three things that are apart of sanctification: The word of God, the work of the holy spirit, and the fellowship of believers.

-Bible references for Sanctification: 2 Timothy 2:21, Acts 26:18, Colossians 2:11

The work that Jesus Christ did on the cross was for us to be made like him. This is what started our part in being sanctified and set apart for us who belong to God.
