Teshuvah is repentance in Hebrew.

In Greek, repent is Repenti.

In Latin, repent is Poenitentia.

To repent is to feel or express sincere regret or remorse about wrongdoing.

Biblical meaning of repentance is a change of heart and mind that brings us closer to God.

Isaiah 55: 6-7 NLT says, "Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them, Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously."

-Other references for inspiration, Chronicles 7:14, Psalms 51:13, Proverbs 28:13.

-When we talk about true repentance, it is not constantly asking God to forgive you while doing the same things that are considered sinful. It is about completely turning away from it and showing God that you are truly remorseful. I know some things are harder than others but ask God for help, instead of saying the empty promise of "I'm not going to do it anymore."
